Taylor Vinters

Taylor Vinters is a law firm based in Cambridge close to the prestigious Science Park.  The firm was created in 1987 when Taylors and Vinters merged to become one organization.  Today, the company employs over 200 people, and their clients range from the individuals requiring legal advice on family, wealth and work matters, to multi-national corporations, global brands, start-ups and sole traders.

The use of Citrix was a key component to the firm’s remote working and disaster recovery provision, and being able to effectively manage the environment was seen as key to a successful deployment. The firm also wanted to present the same experience for users as on their desktops.

The IT staff spent much time refining various login scripts and group policies to deliver the flexibility that was needed for managing the desktop environment of their users. With a view to taking away the need for "programming" knowledge and at the same time providing a more visual, robust and flexible way of managing the user environment, the staff was looking for a GUI driven solution, and one whereby they could manage their Windows and Citrix environment through one management user interface and at the same time optimize the use of resources by each of these environments.

Having looked at the solutions available in the market, the staff evaluated the RES Software products against a number of other solutions.  They decided upon RES Workspace Manager for managing their Citrix environment and RES Automation Manager for managing the Windows environments. The combination provided the staff with peace of mind. By providing them with a complete solution to administer group policies for desktop management and control, along with automating the delivery of changes to the Windows environment, RES Software enables them to optimize the resources they have, on the PCs as well as human, to ensure things run as and when required.
