PHILADELPHIA, PA and Oslo, March 3, 2011 — Helse Vest, the national healthcare provider for the western region of Norway, has selected RES Workspace Manager to help the organization move toward a next-generation PC platform for more than 25,000 users. RES Workspace Manager will enable an easier migration to Windows 7, improved procedures and processes for desktop and user management, and faster sign-on speeds for healthcare professionals. Helse Vest selected RES Gold Partner Atea for the implementation.

Helse Vest is responsible for specialized healthcare services for about 1 million inhabitants in the Rogaland, Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane areas of Norway. RES Software will simplify Helse Vest’s IT environment by providing secured and centralized desktop and user management capabilities, and quick access for users.

RES Workspace Manager will ease Helse Vest’s upcoming migration to Windows 7 and increase overall uptime and security. Additionally, more efficient day-to-day processes will allow healthcare professionals to save time spent on accessing technology in order to focus on patient care. For example, login times will be reduced to five seconds and new functionality to switch between physical machines without ending a session ( also known as session migration) will be introduced. Helse Vest will also use smart cards to further simplify logins and maintain security.
