RES Software Launches Service Provider Program to Enable Personalization and Automation in Hosted Virtual Desktops-as-a-Service Models

RES Software transforms service providers’ delivery operations with solutions that automate and simplify user management

Philadelphia, PA, November 3, 2011RES Software, the proven leader in dynamic desktop solutions, today announced the RES Software Service Provider (RSP) program, allowing qualified service providers to offer an improved Windows experience to their customers with RES Workspace Manager and RES Automation Manager in their hosted environments. With RES Software, service providers will maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing operating costs. This announcement comes on the heels of Citrix and RES collaborating to deliver day-one integration of RES Workspace Manager with the new Citrix CloudPortal™, a solution that enables cloud providers to automate business operations for their services.

RES Software provides simple management of context aware personal user workspaces to enhance the end user experience. RES Workspace Manager gives service providers the ability to deliver a personalized workspace from a centralized policy-based platform within Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery technologies. With RES Automation Manager, service providers have the added ability to orchestrate complex daily tasks, provision user and system-centric resources and manage their customers’ dynamic users as they roam between devices and delivery platforms. The RSP program allows service providers to achieve a balance between satisfying their customer’s user preferences and the IT requirements of their organizations, even in hybrid desktop environments with multiple delivery platforms, operating systems and devices.

The RSP Program is designed for service providers offering offsite, multi-tenant hosting or offsite dedicated environments. To benefit from the RSP program, service providers must have current membership in the Microsoft SPLA program and the Citrix Service Provider (CSP) program. The program gives them the flexibility of monthly “active subscriber” pricing and licensing through the industry-standard Microsoft SPLA model. The addition of RES Software allows service providers to track application licenses in use in real-time and only pay for actual end-user usage.

RSP service providers can also benefit from other products in the RES Software portfolio, including RES Baseline Desktop Analyzer (BDA). BDA is an online, Microsoft Windows Azure-based service that enables quick visibility into their customers’ infrastructure through a rich analysis of their user environments. Baseline Desktop Analyzer fully integrates with RES Workspace Manager, so service providers can stream the data captured by the analysis into Workspace Manager to construct the ideal user workspace for end users, making the onboarding of new customers a simplified and repeatable process.
